Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed in worship Sunday, March 23, 2025:
God of presence and possibility –
you created everything that is –
everything that lives –
and you accompany your creation
through the whole of life
through every pitfall and peril,
always bringing us into more life.
You are present with us this morning,
as you open up to us the possibility of this new day.
We give you thanks and praise.
We pray this morning especially for those who fear.
For those who fear the violence of war, we pray for peace.
For those who fear retribution and revenge, we pray for your loving justice.
For those who fear midnight raids and separation from family,
we pray that you would show us how we can help create safe space and shelter,
how we might stand with those who are most vulnerable.
For those who are hungry, we pray for food enough and more.
For those who are ailing in body or spirit, healing.
For those who mourn, comfort.
For those who are lonely, companionship.
And for all the places where we may be fearful too,
we pray for a deeper sense of your abiding presence,
for the gift of striving with you in the struggle of the world,
for the community of kindred spirits,
and for the power of lovingkindness, your steadfast love,
more powerful than anything that can do us harm.
God of presence and possibility,
come, transcend all that would separate us in this world,
and make us one in your love,
weave us together,
a blessing for the whole wide world.
Aware of our deep connection and entanglement with all creation,
we join the voices of all those who have ever called on you,
praying the prayer that Jesus taught, saying:
Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
