Please feel free to join the prayers prayed in worship Sunday, February 9, 2025:

Loving God,

you created all that is

and have loved your world ever since.

You accompany us through troubled times

bringing those who are captive and oppressed

out into freedom,

seeking us out in our places of exile,

and welcoming us back home.

You’ve come to us in Jesus Christ,

who lives the whole of life with us, even unto death,

and then on into new life for this new day and forever

We give you thanks and praise.

As we seek to live the life of Jesus in the Body of Christ:

Help us to be humble and acknowledge our part in systems that oppress

humble to listen and learn from those who have been harmed the most.

Make us bold to join the work of dismantling, repair, and rebuilding,

to help make real the promise of equality under the law, equity for all people,

as we celebrate and embrace the diversity and dignity of all you have created.

Help us to be humble and see the role our nation has played

in the suffering of Gazans.

Make us bold to work for peace with justice,

to advocate for just systems that dismantle apartheid,

to oppose our own government’s own plans for ethnic cleansing,

to support efforts to restore the basics of life

access to water, and food, and shelter, medical care,

and the freedom and basic human rights to not only survive, but thrive.

Help us to be humble as we stand in the wreckage of this world,

to see what our wasting ways have destroyed,

and to find new ways of living in this time of unravelling,

ways that sustain and extend compassion throughout your creation.

Give us hearts filled with

a love that puts the well-being of others at the center of our lives.

Help us embody our prayers

for those seeking refuge and for those unhoused, safe shelter;

for those who are hungry, food enough and more,

for the lonely, companionship,

for those who mourn, comfort,

for those who hurt in body or in spirit, healing and peace.

Loving God, knowing that you love every bit of your creation,

trusting that your grace abounds

and that your power for good is stronger than the powers that harm,

we are bold to pray for

Everyone

Everything

Everywhere

And united in prayer with everyone who has ever lived and loved and called on you,

we join our voices with their voices, praying the prayer that Jesus taught:

Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
